How to Reach Shri Geeta Sarees: A Local Guide to Navigating Varanasi

The old city of Varanasi is famous for its intricate maze of narrow alleys (known locally as galis). While these alleys are full of charm and history, they can sometimes be confusing for first-time visitors to navigate.

Shri Geeta Sarees is located in the heart of the traditional handloom district in Govindpura. To make your visit to our heritage showroom as seamless as possible, we have put together this simple guide on how to reach us.

How to Reach Us by Auto-Rickshaw (Tuk-Tuk)

Since four-wheelers (cars) are not allowed inside the old city limits near the ghats, an auto-rickshaw or e-rickshaw is your best option.

1. Ask for "Chowk Thana": No matter where you are coming from (the airport, railway station, or a hotel outside the old city), tell your driver you want to go to Chowk Thana (the Chowk Police Station). Every driver in the city knows this landmark.
2. Beware of Touts: Your driver might try to tell you that "the shop is closed today" or offer to take you to a "better factory." Politely decline and insist on being dropped at Chowk Thana.
3. The Final Walk: Once you are dropped off at Chowk Thana, you are only a 2-minute walk away. Enter the lane right next to the Thana heading towards Rani Kuan. Walk straight for about 100 meters, and you will find our showroom on the right side.

Walking from Dashashwamedh Ghat & Godowlia

If you are already exploring the main ghats or the Godowlia crossing, you can easily walk to our showroom.

1. Start at the main Godowlia Crossing (the big intersection near Kashi Vishwanath Temple).
2. Walk straight towards the Chowk area (away from the river). This is a bustling, straight road lined with local shops.
3. Keep walking for about 10 minutes until you reach Chowk Thana on your left.
4. Turn left into the alley right beside the police station (heading towards Rani Kuan).
5. Walk straight for 2 minutes, and you will arrive at Shri Geeta Sarees.
